Wild Baby Animal Enters Woman’s Home And Immediately Relaxes In Dog Bed

Recently, Sarah Sumeray was walking her dog around London when she noticed a small animal approaching passersby on the path ahead. At first, Sumeray assumed the animal was a puppy. But as she got closer, she realized he was actually a baby fox who was lost and alone.

“[He] was running up to people crying,” Sumeray told The Dodo. “I knew this poor animal needed help.”

Unable to locate the fox’s parents, Sumeray began researching local fox rescues. In the meantime, the fox rested at Sumeray’s home.

“As soon as I got him home, he stopped crying, explored my living room and crawled into my dog’s bed, where he promptly fell asleep!” Sumeray said. “It was such an unbelievable thing to witness! Seeing his little smile melted my heart.”

Sumeray tweeted about her new friend in a post that quickly went viral.

Eventually, Sumeray connected with experts at Fox Angels Foundation. When rescuers arrived, they confirmed that the fox was just a baby, only 5 weeks old. Rescuers assured Sumeray that the fox would grow up with other rescue foxes around his age in a safe environment.

Sumeray is glad to have made a difference in this fox’s life. She’s happy she took initiative that day instead of leaving the fox to fend for himself.

“I’ve made it my mission to not be the sort of person that ignores an issue and leave[s] it to others to deal with,” Sumeray said. “This experience confirmed for me that that’s the right mindset to have.”
