Fans Boo as G-Dragon Delays Concert by 73 Minutes, Eventually Bows to Audience

Singer G-Dragon’s long-awaited return to the stage after eight years began with controversy, as his solo concert was delayed due to unexpected severe weather conditions.

According to the music industry on the 29th, G-Dragon’s “2025 World Tour: Übermensch in Korea,” held at Goyang Sports Complex in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, started at around 7:43 p.m.—approximately one hour and 13 minutes behind the originally scheduled time.

The concert was initially set to begin at 6:30 p.m., but organizer Coupang Play announced earlier that day that due to worsening weather, the performance would begin at 7 p.m. However, even the revised time passed without any updates, leading to growing frustration among fans.

Audience members were forced to wait in the cold, with no clear communication from event staff. Some began booing in response. A music video for G-Dragon’s song “Power” was played on large LED screens at the venue to fill the gap, but the artist himself remained absent from the stage.

When G-Dragon finally appeared at 7:43 p.m., he launched directly into the opening act without offering a formal apology. It wasn’t until several songs later that he addressed the situation, saying, “The weather is really cold today. I’m sorry for starting like this.”

His agency later explained that the concert was delayed due to safety concerns caused by sudden strong winds and that an additional delay of about 40 minutes followed as a precaution.

Übermensch World Tour Kicks Off

This performance marked the official kickoff of G-Dragon’s 2025 Übermensch World Tour, his first solo tour since 2017. The tour is named after the German philosophical concept "Übermensch" (superman or overman), signaling a bold artistic vision and a new chapter in his career. The Goyang concert is the first in a global series of performances planned across Asia, North America, and Europe.

Despite the rocky start, fans remained enthusiastic throughout the performance, with many expressing hope that future shows in the tour will proceed more smoothly.
